Becky and Brendan’s Wedding (Pass me the tissues please)

Wow!

Becky and Brendan certainly know how to throw a party and their story is so moving and genuine that I’m even filling up a bit as I’m writing this. Who said men don’t cry??

We always get involved with our couples. Its part of why we love what we do. But when you’ve already shot the wedding of got one of the bridesmaids and the best men, as well as one of the guests, then you know its going to be a good day.

We absolutely had a ball shooting this wedding at Badgen Hall in Denby Dale. Everyone was really cool and made our lives easy on the day, and apart from Tyler (the brides young son) not wanting to tuck his shirt in or walk mum down the aisle it all went swimmingly.

It was great to have Amy with us, supporting as a second shooter and she got some lovely shots of the girls and the guys that Becky and Brendan didn’t know anything about until the viewing.

Amy is in the UK with her husband as he does some really impressive qualification I cant remember, but back in Canada she has her own photography business. She’s cool, and we’ll be having Amy with us for a few more weddings this year before she disappears back home.

Anyhow, here’s a small selection from the day’s shots. If you were there, then you’ll have the password to get to the rest on our client site here

Enjoy! We did

Damian :-)

Shelly & Jemma’s Pre Wedding Shoot

This one’s a first for us!

Shelly & Jemma have the dubious honour of being our first gay wedding, and are getting hitched at Caistor Hall in Norwich this July. If the pre wedding shoot was anything to go by then we’re in for a hoot.

The girls live in Ormskirk, so after a 90 minute drive, stopping the shoot for a bit of rain just wasn’t an option and Damian got absolutely soaked. We all gave him the sympathy he deserved!!!!! At least the dogs didn’t laugh at him (much).

We’re so pleased to be involved in Shelly and Jemma’s day. Who could resist saying no to shooting 2 gorgeous girls in a fabulous location on a great day?

Here’s a few images from the shoot. Only 2 locations and a bit of imagination. Surprising what you can do in a derelict electricity sub station with a dodgy floor and lots of sharp things…

Charlotte :-)

Felicity & Andrew Pre Wedding Shoot in Sheffield

We had a quick trip south to Sheffield to shoot Felicity and Andrew’s Pre Wedding shoot a few weeks ago. Its fair to say it was just a bit chilly, but thanks to a bit of spot on local knowledge Andrew found us a fantastic location. We could have shot all day, but frozen fingers and runny noses stopped play. Even Shirley the dog joined in.

We can’t wait to shoot these guy’s wedding. Felicity is a real fifties style freak and is going all out for a Pink theme complete with Cadillac, sparkly balloons and everything else glamorous.

Wortley Hall will never be the same again!!

Seriously though, we love the look we got and we know we’re going to have a fun day in May>>>

Catherine & Thomas Wedding at Seaham and Lumley Castle

Hi Everyone

Just before Christmas we had the pleasure of shooting Catherine & Thomas’s wedding up in the North East.

The Wedding was held in a freezing cold but beautiful church in Dalton-Le-Dale with the reception held in Lumley Castle.

No one really expected the huge amount of snow fall that started just as the guests were starting their meals, and its ssafe to say that the castle had a few more rooms booked by those who couldn’t get hold of taxis.

What an eventful and fanstastic day for everyone involved in a truly lovely setting with great people and finished with a superb firework display.

If you’ve got a password for the gallery then you’ll need to go to www.damianhallclientlounge.com and enter it there to see the full collection of images.

Best Wishes

BLOC Chocolate

We always love to work with really talented and like minded creatives. We think that anyone that can make trees, shoes and sculptures from chocolate fits that description pretty much 100%.

Julia owns BLOC Chocolate which is based in the Piece Hall in Halifax. I’m always blown away by the patience and attention to detail that goes into the creations an we were happy to drop over and shoot some chocolate art.

You can guess that given the choice both Charlotte and I would prefer to be paid in the stuff were shooting, but we were fairly disciplined and only ended up with some orange flakes and mint thins. Fantastic!

You should drop in and ask for something outrageous. Its a small shop with a big talent.

Doggy Portrait Shoot with Gus

Hi all

Just about caught up now. Yaaaaay

We love shooting dogs. The right shooting obviously though!

Gus is an old boy, so unusually we had a pretty steady walk around Farsley Hall in Leeds. He’s got a lovely temperament and is sooo soft. Very much reminded us of our Sam. Here’s to you Gus old lad… Keep poddling!

A little trip to the coast…

Just a little update from last weekend. After a pre wedding shoot and a client visit we nipped out to Blackpool to see the illuminations. We did take Sam, so I didn’t get much chance to shoot much, but I did manage to pop a few shots off, hand held at very big ISO’s.

Maxwell the Lumberjack

We shot a few sequences of Max when we shot Mum and Dad’s Pre Wedding Shoot (Who could resist)? This little guy is a superhero. Totally impervious to bumps, trips, full on falls and scrapes. He’s made of Kryptonite and is very cool.

Emily and Matthew Pre Wedding Shoot

Hi all

Over in Cheshire now with these two lovers. We managed to find a fantastic old farm outhouse and we grabbed a few flarey sun shots as the evening drew in a bit. They’d even fixed the drive for us when we went to show them the images. Bless!

Johannes Van Kan Seminar and Queensberry New Range Review

Just wanted to report back from a superb day out up at Annabel William’s new studio in Staveley near Windemere in the Lakes

jvkWe were up there to meet Johannes Van Kan who was over here from New Zealand to run a few seminars on the value of imaging and the value of presenting images. Now, we already use Queensberry albums because they are quite simply the best in the world, however Johannes’ take on storytelling through our work was superbly enlightening. There’s no substitute for dropping out of the daily running of the business of photography to concentrate solely on the bit we all love. The creative process. Will we be changing what we do? No. Will we approach storytelling with a new vision? A definite yes.
